The drum major's antics in the Parade of Lunacy

or, the nontexarkanian

26 October 1961
I am in my fourties, married, with one grown child and one in her freshman year of high school. Compared to a lot of what I see out there, I suppose my family isn't really what you would call dysfunctional, just the usual run of the mill problems around here, of a typical average middle class family with some struggles and the occasional small triumph.

After vacillating about it for two decades and 15 years after finishing art school I finally decided to really be an artist when I grew up so now I go around making walls look cool, and trying to make it profitable, as the sole proprieter, president, talent and janitor of "edge of texas murals." Faux painting and murals. My logo has a little armadillo on it. Her name is Muriel. That's an inside joke. (cause folks around here ask me, "how much does it cost ta get wunna them muriels painted?" Bless their hearts.)

I think I'm sort of ADD but have kind of learned how to be organized over the past few years so I like to go around converting other slobs. I'm a born again slob.

I also have chickens for pets. And rats. And cats. And if they would let me I'd have a pony, and goats, and peacocks.

My days are spent either painting or being as lazy as possible until 3, after which time it's Taximom and we are off to dance, piano, ballet, girl scouts, or serious quality time shopping with my 15 year old daughter who is going to be taking over the world any day now. She's already in charge of the household and I suspect will be running the high school before it's all over.
